Dear Parents and Choristers,
My name is Olivia MacDougall, and I am excited to serve as the new Children’s Choir Director at St. Anthony’s. I look forward to continuing the wonderful program that Jean Sult has built — a program that brings together faith, music education, and teamwork.
I have a Bachelor of Education with Distinction from the University of Alberta, with a focus on elementary teaching and music. I taught Grade 2 for six years and was the Elementary Music Specialist at Clear Water Academy from 2015 to 2017. St. Anthony’s has been my home parish since 2009 — this is where my husband and I were married, and we continue to attend Mass here with our children.
This year my goal is to create a joyful, prayerful, and focused environment where children can grow in confidence, develop their singing voice, learn music skills, and deepen their faith. We will build on the music and skills learned from previous years, and the choir will sing at the 5:00 pm Mass on the 4th Saturday of each month. A full schedule will be shared soon.
I hope you will join us again this year! Jean has shared many good things about the dedication and growth of the children. Registration is open on the parish website. If you have any questions, please email me at childrenschoir@stanthonysyyc.ca.
Thank you. I look forward to meeting you at our first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall.
Warmly,
Olivia MacDougall
Our parish is pleased to offer to children ages 7-10 a free music program that combines service to the Liturgy with musicianship training. Rehearsals take place every Tuesday 6:30-7:45 pm and the children sing every 4th Saturday at the 5 pm mass.
We are pleased to announce our new Children’s Choir Director is Olivia MacDougall.
Please register before the first rehearsal on September 15th.
