INFANT & OLDER CHILD BAPTISM (birth to 17 years)

Please complete the fillable Registration for Baptism Form, and attach a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

If you reside outside of St. Anthony’s parish boundaries, please obtain a letter from your parish priest confirming that your child may be baptized at St. Anthony’s.

Baptism Preparation Course

New parents or those who have not celebrated Baptism within the last three years are asked to attend a Baptism Preparation class. Godparents are encouraged to attend.  Please contact the parish office to register.

Godparent Requirement Guidelines

Only one godparent is required, however, if you choose two, it must be one male and one female.

One Godparent must be a practicing Catholic who has celebrated the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Catholic Church.  A copy of the godparents’ Confirmation Certificate  or Baptism Record noting the date of Confirmation should be provided with the Request of Baptism form.  The Church where the person was Baptized or Confirmed can usually provide a copy on request.

If choosing a second godparent, they may also be Catholic or a validly baptized Christian (this person is considered a “Christian Witness”).  A copy of the Baptism Certificate is required.

A godparent must be at least 16 years old.

Celebration of Baptism

Baptisms are generally scheduled on the 1st Saturday of the month at 11:45am and the 3rd Saturday of the month at 11:00am.

Scheduling your Child’s Baptism

Please email a Registration for Baptism Form, together with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a letter from your parish priest (if required), and all godparents’ sacramental documentation,  to sacraments@stanthonysyyc.ca.  Once we receive your completed Baptism Request package you will be contacted to schedule an  appointment to meet the priest, your Baptism Preparation (if required), and your Baptism Celebration.

For Children in grades 2 and up:

To register, please complete the Request for First Reconciliation First Eucharist fillable form and email it together with a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate (only if not baptized at St. Anthony’s)  to sacraments@stanthonysyyc.ca.  Registrations accepted until September 19, 2025.

CONFIRMATION 2025/2026 – Dependent upon registration

For children in grades 6 and up. Our Confirmation Preparation Program will begin with the Family Information Night September 29, 2025 and conclude with the celebration of Confirmation during the 2026 Easter Season.
Please note that we will need of minimum of 6 children to register in order to run the program.

Registration: Applications will be accepted until September 26, 2025.  Email a
Request for Confirmation Fillable Form, the Confirmation Sponsor Form (including their Confirmation Certificate) and a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate to sacraments@stanthonysyyc.ca.  Complete Ministry Screening Forms below.

Our Adult Confirmation program for adults who have been Baptized Catholic and have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, will begin in February 2026.   To register, please complete our Request for Confirmation Adult Fillable Form.  and email it together with a copy of your BAPTISM RECORD to sacraments@stanthonysyyc.ca.  Registrations for this year will be accepted up until January 30, 2026.
